Homes England reports back at Attleborough’s Christmas lights switch on
Building on the success of the first public information event, held in September 2021, Homes England recently held two ‘reporting back’ sessions in Attleborough as part of the ‘Christmas lights switch on’ and in the Town Hall the following week.
The project team reported on the progress to date in the progression of some key site-wide strategies that are due to be submitted to Breckland District Council in early 2022, including a design code and structuring plan that gives more detail on the linear park, link road, local centre and residential development areas.
Jayshree Patel, Head of Planning & Enabling for Homes England, said: “We wanted to share our emerging plans and progress on important site-wide strategies with local people to invite valuable feedback. We knew that the Christmas lights switch on event is always well attended, so with over 130 people coming to see us on the day it was a worthwhile exercise with plenty of feedback collected to inform our future work.”
“Hosting our own session at the Town Hall just days after the festive event allowed us to speak to more people, to stand around plans and welcome participation in the design and development process as we look to bring phase one forward.”
At each event there was a series of boards on display with emerging plans as to how the vision, which was consulted on in September, is being delivered in the core strategies that are being drawn up for submission to Breckland in the spring.
Homes England is due to submit further details, including a planning application for the delivery of key infrastructure, throughout the course of 2022, and will be hosting more public information sessions as part of this.
