Homes England hosts first public information event
Following its purchase of phase one of the Attleborough Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE), Homes England held its first public information event on Thursday 23rd September 2021 at the town’s regular chartered market.
Members of the project team were on hand to discuss Homes England’s role in delivering the wider Sustainable Urban Extension, its broader principles and vision for development, as well as setting out a timeline of work due to be undertaken in the coming years.
A total of 97 local people attended the session, which was held from 8.30 until 1.00pm on Queen’s Square. Many people provided valuable feedback to inform the extensive technical and planning work that is being carried out in advance of the commencement of development south of the Norfolk town.
Jennifer Offord, Senior Planning & Enabling Manager at Homes England, commented on the success of the event: “This event has been a very useful insight into local people’s priorities. It provided a perfect opportunity for Homes England to introduce themselves to local people, to set out the vision that will guide us in the progression of plans for the SUE, as well as an opportunity for people to comment on what we have produced so far.”
“It’s really important that local people feed into the plans as they move forward and continue to work positively with us and other key delivery partners to get such an important strategic site off to a good start.”
A ‘reporting back’ event has been scheduled to take place at the upcoming Attleborough Christmas lights switch on event, as well as on Tuesday 30 November 2021 at Attleborough Town Hall.
