Outline planning permission for the Attleborough Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) was granted in March 2020 for 4,000 homes, a link road and other infrastructure (such as a waste water treatment works), two primary schools, local and neighbourhood centres, community facilities and public open space.
Since then, Homes England, the UK Government’s housing and regeneration agency, has purchased the first parcel of land.
Homes England’s mission is to drive regeneration and housing delivery to create high-quality homes and thriving places. This will support greater social justice, the levelling up of communities across England and create places people are proud to call home.
Homes England’s role at Attleborough is to accelerate the development and we are committed to delivering the infrastructure to aid the delivery of a new community that complements the historic market town, with well-designed neighbourhoods, linked by a linear park. Homes England is working with Breckland District Council and local stakeholders to turn these plans into reality.
